Pressing out, splitting and crushing medication - simple and reliable

Preparing medication in the nursing home

In inpatient and outpatient care, nursing staff are stretched to their limits and must nevertheless always carry out their work reliably while observing many regulations. Preparing medication is a central and time-consuming part of nursing. Splitting tablets has to be extremely precise, and pressing tablets out of their blisters needs to be as fast and hygienic as possible.

Any aid that saves time and supports high-quality work is therefore welcome. With the melipul products, Schwarz Pflegesysteme offers you effective and professional working aids.

Removing tablets from blisters - fast and hygienic

Since a great many tablets have to be removed from their blisters and prepared in residential care, the melipul tablet press-out aid saves a real amount of time. It also prevents sore fingertips caused by forcefully pressing the medication out by hand.

Simply hold the ergonomic tablet press-out aid, measuring 130 mm x 72 mm x 26 mm, in your hand and place the blister pack between the lever and the container. Then press the lever gently with your thumb to push the tablet out of the blister. The medication is caught hygienically in the container below. You can then transfer the tablet directly into a dispenser or cup without touching it. The press-out aid can be taken apart into two halves and cleaned in the dishwasher.

Splitting tablets - precise and easy

Accurate tablet splitting can only be ensured with a tablet splitter. With its integrated blade made of surgical stainless steel, the melipul tablet splitter halves tablets of any shape and size easily, quickly and with the utmost precision. To do so, open the tablet splitter and place the tablet at the top towards the tip. After closing it, press the lid onto the base with your thumb and index finger.

The split tablet can then be removed once the splitter has been opened again. Please make sure to wear hygienic disposable gloves when doing so. Weighing just 27 grams, with a diameter of 40 mm and a height of 55 mm, the tablet splitter is very light and handy. It is also heat-resistant up to 65 degrees Celsius and can therefore easily be cleaned in the dishwasher.

Crushing tablets - easy and reliable

For patients who cannot swallow tablets, or only with difficulty, due to their illness, the tablets need to be pulverised. This is very easy with the melipul tablet crushers made of high-quality, sturdy plastic. The round melipul crusher, with a diameter of 40 mm and a weight of 34 grams, reliably crushes tablets by twisting its two halves in opposite directions. You then unscrew the two halves and simply transfer the pulverised tablet into a medicine cup or dispenser without touching it.

The melipul tablet crusher PROFI pulverises tablets directly in the medicine cup with its stainless steel pestle, eliminating an additional work step. With a diameter of 69 mm and a height of 105 mm, it fits comfortably in the hand and is easy to use.

A cover that seals the medicine cup at the top when the pestle is pressed down prevents the inhalation of medication dust. As a carer, you are thus protected from released active substances that may be harmful. Both crushers can easily be cleaned hygienically in the dishwasher.
